What is a Terra foraging area? It's a separate module that connects to your anthill so the colony can go out for food and water without putting the nest at risk. For small or medium colonies we recommend the Terra M V2 Foraging Area: 11 × 11 × 12 cm, clear acrylic and compatible with the whole AntMaster Terra modular system.

All Terra foraging areas screw directly onto the modules of your anthill using the standard Terra connection system, with leak-proof seals and stoppers to seal any ports you're not using. You can add or remove foraging areas without touching the rest of the setup.

The range covers five sizes: Mini (5 × 6 × 3 cm, for queens and microcolonies), M (11 × 11 × 12 cm), L (22 × 11 × 12 cm), XL (22 × 22 × 30 cm, with 8 modular connections) and XXL (44 × 22 × 18 cm, with 12 connection ports) for large setups. Each one includes an Allen key, stoppers and anti-vibration soft pads.

Besides the V2 models in clear acrylic, there's a 3D version (base with an organic relief pattern in matte PLA, no substrate needed) and a Tropical version (with a built-in humidity reservoir of 60 ml in size M and 120 ml in size L, plus coconut fiber/peat substrate included) for species that need a humid environment. Check the compatible accessories to complete your setup.

What size foraging area do I need?

For a small or medium colony, the Terra M (11 × 11 × 12 cm) is usually enough. If the colony grows or you want more room for feeders and water dispensers, the Terra L (22 × 11 × 12 cm) gives more space. For large setups or several connected modules, the Terra XL or XXL offer more surface area and more connection ports.

Are they compatible with the anthill modules I already have?

Yes. All Terra foraging areas use the same screw-based connection system as the rest of the Terra range, so they attach to any modular Terra anthill you already have, whatever its size.

How is a Terra foraging area installed?

It screws directly onto the connection port of the anthill module with the included Allen key. Any ports you're not using are sealed with the stoppers that come in the box, to prevent leaks.

What materials are they made from?

The V2 models combine high-transparency acrylic with matte PLA parts. The 3D models are made entirely of matte PLA, with an organic relief base that doesn't need sand or added substrate.

Can I buy a foraging area without already having a Terra anthill?

The modular connector isn't included with the foraging areas: you need a Terra anthill module to attach it to. If you don't have one yet, you can start there, or get your questions answered at the help center.
