Connectors are the pieces that join modules, foraging areas and tubes within the AntMaster modular system, and they are also the difference between a sealed setup and an escape at three in the morning. The connectors between modules screw in with the M3 Allen key, which is included with your first order; the Tube connector fits without tools. They cost between €0.99 and €1.99. The standard Connector (€1.50) joins two modules face to face. The Tube connector (€0.99) fits a 16 mm test tube to a module or foraging area. This way a queen can found her colony directly in the Starter. The one for 12/10 flexible tubing (€1) lets you link modules and foraging areas with flexible tubing when they are not joined directly. The Ventilation connector (€0.99) has a mesh instead of an open passage. The Blind connector (€0.99) closes the ports you don't use. And for multi-level builds there are the L vertical connector (€1), the Reverse L connector (€1.99) and the vertical leg for modules (€1.99).

How many connectors do I need?

One for each joint between pieces, and a blind connector for each port left open and unused. The modules already include gate locks, one per gate, to lock the gates you don't connect.

Do they work with both ranges?

Yes. The Terra range and the 3D range use the same screw connection standard.

How do I avoid escapes when connecting?

Tighten with the Allen key until the joint sits tight, close the free ports and check the connection before opening the gate. If the colony is small and very prone to escaping, connect with the nest closed and open it once everything is assembled.
